The search had produced a list of hot links to 15 works sorted by creator and then by date of creation. The browser produces thumbnails in the search results. You can't see the full image unless you are a subscriber, but you have access to 50,000 works of art in thumbnail form.

Jack Wolcott's Theatre History on the Web
A Resource for Theatre Historians and Students of the Theatre's History. So far, I have resisted placing a "dboals.com" site on the Web, or in planting a personal identification on the page titles or the "Name" category that results when you save a page for a bookmark. When I deleted a name identification on a K-12 page some time ago, the author of the page sent an Email that clearly corrected my error. I'm not going to make the mistake with Jack's site, which should not be visited by K-12 teachers because Jack authored it, but because it contains a wealth of information about the social and historical context of theatre. Theatre related sites are annotated as well as useful and enjoyable sites that relate to the arts in general. Jack's research is presented in a pleasing fast-load manner. The best site on theatre history for K-12 teachers! I leave it to the Media theorists to speculate on the issue of the Web as a projection of Self.
